CELBMD Africa – Join in the celebration of World Youth Skills Day July 15th 2017 (Cameroon)admin
The 2017 Edition of World Youth Skills Day was celebrated under the theme “Skills for All”. Every year since 2015, the world youth skills day is celebrated all over the world to raise awareness about the issue of unemployment among youth.
The Center for Entrepreneurship, Leadership & Business Management Development (CELBMD) Africa – The Pan African Professional Skills Development Center commemorated this day in Buea Cameroon in partnership with YALI RLC Alumni (Tembi Mavis & Etonde Eliot) by organizing a one week skills development program for university students and job seekers. In CELBMD Africa headquarters Kumbo, the same day, the World Youth Skills Day was celebrated with an intensive one day soft skills training program for young entrepreneurs, job seekers and current university students. CELBMD Africa provided free skills training to young people across Cameroon on vital soft skills like Social media marketing, public speaking, communication and presentation skills, problem solving and critical thinking, self-motivation, self-leadership, 21st century job searching skills, professional networking and much more. To overcome youth unemployment and improve skil ls that will propel individual and country growth, skills development programs are vital. Therefore, the more we give importance to skill development, the more competent will be our African Youth.
Javnyuy Joybert, the Founder, CEO and Lead Trainer of The Center for Entrepreneurship, Leadership & Business Management Development (CELBMD) Africa – The Pan African Professional Skills Development Center stated “There are millions of young Africans facing unemployment due to poor skills, I have seen young people who have lost opportunities because they lack skills, local young entrepreneurs find it difficult to boast their businesses because they lack skills, startups and corporate organizations find it difficult to increase their productivity and profits because their employees lack the skills. Without skilled employees, companies are less productive and growth is significantly hindered. As Cameroon as a nation strive to grow, the need for skilled local talent is imperative to the sustained growth and success of local businesses, local projects and growth of local entrepreneurs. As Africa’s economies continue to grow and attract investment, the lack of appropriately skilled workers is widely recognized as a critical challenge for most companies. The need for skilled local talent is imperative to the sustained growth and success of their businesses”
CELBMD Africa believe that for sustainable development to take place, significant investment must be made in upgrading the skills of the youth workforce.
Here’s a message from Ban Ki-Moon, UN Secretary-General:
“On this World Youth Skills Day, let us renew our resolve to invest more in empowering young people. When we do, they can better advance the broader mission of the United Nations for lasting peace, sustainable development and human rights for all.”
