The Principal things for African Young People (Episode 10) – By Javnyuy Joybert

Six years ago i asked myself a very important question which was what is the biggest difference between those who succeed and those who fail in life? By then i was working as a finance clerk in a microfinance institution and everyday i was so angry at the job, angry at myself and angry about everything in my life. I was not feeling satisfied and did not see the potential of my future success both financially & professionally. I started seeking answers and consequently resigned from the job with no plan B and was jobless for 6 months until i got another job as an operations officer in a micro credit NGO but still was not happy, not satisfied and not feeling successful. After 8 months with this micro credit NGO i resigned and started my social entrepreneurial journey and upon venturing into entrepreneurship nobody told me i will face challenges, setbacks and difficulties. In other words my mind was not prepared. Few months as an Entrepreneur i asked myself this question again what is the biggest difference between those who succeed and those who fail in life? I started seeking answers and comparing to myself and i discovered that all successful people and entrepreneurs had all developed a successful mindset before or in the course of their entrepreneurial journey.
I discovered that i had to change my life by changing the way i think. It may look small but developing a successful mindset makes a huge difference and it is responsible for your feelings of self-worth, confidence, build your self-esteem and competence. I concluded then that if i want to measure in the same rank of successful people and social entrepreneurs am going to need a successful mindset, i needed to elevate my mindset to achieve uncommon success and i also made up my mind that if am going to fail, i will fail daring greatly. Your positive self-talk creates your reality. Is it time you rewired your brain and create new thoughts to help bring you what you want as opposed to what you don’t want
One of the major ways i discovered that could help me develop a successful mindset was positive self-talk. In life, the most important conversation is the one you have with yourself. Whether you know it or not you talk to yourself everyday so be careful what you say to yourself. Avoid negative self-talk and thoughts, plant seeds of positivity, greatness, inspiration and motivation and not abusive seeds of doubt and criticisms. I discovered that the best strategies recognize, promote, sustain optimism, hope, and joy is to intentionally fill our thoughts & day with positive self-talk.
As a Christian one of the major tools i used and am still using today is quoting specific Bible verses to me on a daily basis (I will recommend this App Inspiring Bible Verses). Ensure to always have that optimistic voice in your head that always look on the bright side. That voice inside your head whether positive or negative has a huge impact on who you are and how you live your life.
Remember don’t only accumulate this knowledge but understand and practice it.
